Ziggy Tromple
Performance Artist / “Invisible Kite” Creator
Introduction
Ziggy Tromple gained notoriety in the performance art world for inventing and flying the “invisible kite,” a concept piece symbolizing unseen burdens. His invisible kite festivals baffled and delighted confused onlookers worldwide.
Early Life
Ziggy was born on July 18, 1977, in Emporia, Kansas, during a thunderstorm he later called “the sky’s audition.” As a boy, he often played with kites that had no strings or shapes, insisting they existed “in potential.” By 13, he was giving local weather reports based on imaginary sky readings.
Later Years
In his later years, Ziggy organized silent kite parades in urban parks and released a line of blank packaging labeled "DIY Sky Sculpture." He passed away in 2022 after being caught in an actual kite entanglement, a tragic irony he would have appreciated.
Contributions
Ziggy’s invisible kites sparked debates in modern art circles and inspired at least one college thesis titled Wind Without Witness. His “Sky Without Evidence” exhibit was displayed (or possibly not) at The Museum of Modern Arts for three weeks.
Fun Facts
He was once arrested for pretending to fly “nothing” in a no-fly zone.
Claimed to have lost three invisible kites in a tornado and still mourned them annually.
