Milton “Milt” Pendergrass
Professor / Flatulence Scientist
Introduction
Professor Milt Pendergrass is a pioneering scientist in the emerging field of olfactory gas re-engineering—or, as he puts it, “making farts smell fancy.” He became famous after presenting his TED Talk, “From Pew to Perfume,” which featured live demonstrations and several audience members' emergency exits. His work aims to turn the world’s most avoided aroma into something you might actually compliment.
Early Life
Milt was born on June 15, 1959, in Tootington, Ohio—a town known for its unfortunate name and bean-heavy cuisine. As a child, he conducted early experiments using scented candles and his grandpa’s recliner. By age 11, he had invented a crude “fart filter” using dryer sheets and hope.
Later Years
Milt currently leads the Flatulence Optimization & Aroma Transformation Lab (F.O.A.T. Lab) at the University of Air Sciences. He’s working on a breakthrough capsule that can convert digestive gases into the scent of cinnamon rolls. He also teaches a popular course called “Gas & Class: The Science of Polite Emissions.”
Contributions
His research has led to the development of scented dietary supplements, noise-masking chair cushions, and the world’s first prototype of a “rose-scented burrito.” Milt’s team has published dozens of peer-reviewed papers, including “Lavender Wind: A Case Study in Botanical Butt Burps.” His work may revolutionize awkward elevators forever.
Fun Facts
He wears a lab coat that smells like vanilla cupcakes at all times.
His dog, Beans, is the official test subject for many of his trials.
He once gave a speech titled “Why Your Butt Deserves Better.”
